"Must have" Toons?

Solid characters that have overall use in the game.

Royal Guard (Great Tank with lots of uses for both campaign, arena and Galactic War)
Luminara
Old Daka (you'd want a healer for the Dark Side campaign)
Qui Gon Jinn
Captain Phasma
Teebo
Ewok Elder
Ahsoka Tano

There's no throne, just a dark dungeon where we keep the wookies... heh heh. No just joking, in all honesty, Bent can throw me anywhere he wants, i.e. we are not the same. I just like to pop on this time of day and join in the fun.

Excuse me, but I use a lame Resistance team now. Thank you very much.

QGJ and Rey are the only two "must have" toons in my opinion, as they're the only two that absolutely shine in every mode in the game. Everyone else is situational or specific to 1-2 modes.

Royal Guard and Rey. That's it.

Really? you are the first to say this, thanks.

He's right. There aren't any absolute MUST HAVEs in the game. You can play well and accomplish things and stuff with whatever charactes you want--That said:
1) Certain combinations of characters are definitely better than others.
2) Certain characters definitely make certain phases of the game easier.
3) To be "the best" you're going to want to use certain characters determined by the current metagame, which switches from time to time.

I think the fact that the meta changes is the real reason there are no ABSOLUTE MUST HAVEs--once the meta changes, the old MUST HAVEs become just another character. So pick the guys you like.

Finally, that said, here are some characters that are really, really good and you'll find the game much easier as you go along if you're using them:
Luminara, Darth Sidious, Old Daka, Qui-Gon Jin, Rey, Captain Phasma.
