Why all the love for phoenix squad?

I like SW rebels well enough, but it got cancelled. Just in time for this game to be rife with all the characters from it(except Old Rex, for some reason). Now we have the Thrawn event, which only rewards whoever bought these new phoenix characters. It's just another huge dis to all the casual players, which is all that will be left of this game if prices or announcements don't improve.

Phoenix squad is the least fun team to play imo. Not bothering with them or Thrawn. This game always has a way to get people crazy and wanting the "next big thing". I rather focus on teams I actually enjoy playing.

Straight rebel team (wiggs, lando, sth) is by far the most boring team to play...Phoenix team has some interesting skill sets and synergy...also a lot of counters. Phoenix team is pretty close to Jedi team.
  • I think everyone is looking at this backwards. Phoenix being "featured" for this event - and Thrawn being the "legendary" hero obtained with this event is not completely/partially/necessarily because of all "the love" for them - or their popularity. This game is as much a "commercial" for the characters and show as the show is the basis for the game. It works both ways.

Some people (many people?) have commented that they didn't even know who Thrawn was until they came on these forums. That's my point. Disney isn't only having EA/CG produce a game - they're having EA/CG market their TV series...and their movies...and their other media.

  • To those easily offended above, that's called hyperbole and it's not meant to be taken literally. I am well aware there are literally tens of people who are huge Phoenix fans and certainly did not mean to offend.

    :D Well played.

It's not cancelled. Season 4 is still happening.

Ending after season 4? is that still the case?

It's not cancelled. It's ending after season 4 because their story will have caught up to Rogue One. The same creative team has another Star Wars animated show planned to follow up behind Rebels in a different time period.
