Zeta Conundrum

Maul isn't what he used to be and without the toons to back him, he's not that good any longer. The best Maul teams I've personally encountered had Maul lead zetad, Savage, Sith Assassin, Sith Trooper and DN. Maul and Assassin especially had a lot of speed, more on Sith Assassin.

Maybe Vader to up your scores in the Pit Raid? It's super easy with him I've heard. I never used a zeta in him.

Did you zeta DN? What other toons do you have to choose from?

I might stick it on Nihilus if you're already running that in arena. I think Maul is played out for the time being. I feel good about Nihilus lead Sith in arena given the right gear/mods, but I don't run it myself so take it with a grain of salt.

OTOH, if you want to develop your Jedi team, QGJ is an amazing zeta.

How's your Kylo Ren or your R2? Both are better choices. Or, more importantly, how are other people's R2s? If they are good, don't zeta Maul, because it'd be a waste. I actively seek out Maul squads because they are easier to defeat than any other option I have right now. Either way, don't be like me and zeta Tarkin's lead. Sounded cool, but it wasn't.

Savage Opress is a good one and works really well under a Nihilus lead (even without his leadership zeta) if you want to keep your zeta dark sideish. If you're on a newer shard, you'll wreck shop with a zSavage.

Me personally, I switched from Nihilus some time back to Empire to finally selling my soul this week and switching to Rebels.

It's really a depressing time to be an empire/sith fan in this game.

https://swgoh.gg/zeta-report/ will give you an idea of what other people have done, but it's also a bit misleading because of the huge numbers of Vader and Maul. Vader's zeta used to be way better than it is currently, and it's only really good for raids now. Maul got crushed by the release of R2.

I wouldn't do Maul unless you can also do zSO. The toughest Maul teams left have zSO alongside him. Personally, I'd hold on to those zetas for a while until you can get R2 and CLS arena-ready. You can keep using your DN in a non-lead role with a CLS, R2, DN and two others team.

My current arena leader is zMaul and I'm slipping week by week, I just can't keep up with the CLS and Friends teams

I haven't zetad anyone yet. Some more of my option are Vader, Maul, Nihilus (only 5 stars currently), Qui-Gon, 6 star R2, Boba, Phasma. There are more I'm sure I'm missing, I have about 30 7 star guys but can't think who all can be zetad.

Frankly if they'd give Emperor a zeta there'd be no question.

Bad times to Z any dark side toons, my recommendation is to hold on to the Zeta until you have a team you already have built and it will excel, like, make the Zeta be the cherry on top of a cake, rather than just Zeta qgj, or maul, or R2 and then try to build a team around that, you will always fall behind.
Phasma being the toon of the month...... FO gonna get strong??? They have a team with 4 zetas needed already......

Exactly, I'm all about Empire/Sith teams. I haven't sold my soul yet. Perhaps I'll have to work on Savage and get him ready for my next zeta. My R2 is only 6 stars, but I have his abilities maxed and ready for a zeta. I don't use him a ton yet though.

I also wondered about that...its about time dark side is getting some love though.
