I am glad it works for you now, which country do you live in and what ISP are you using?
Unfortunately for me it is still not working, I have just uninstalled the game, switched off and on the phone, reinstalled the game and retried connecting on mobile data but I am still stuck when the loading screen is looking for potential updates ☹️
Bug still on for me.

I no longer get the connection error message and the game is running normaly on 4g/5g

Crazy, I'm on Sosh (orange) as well, in France as well. It does not work for me despite multiple cache clearing, reinstalling, restarting phone etc. I still can't play on mobile data.

Thanks Gunner! I've posted a thread on the ISP forum to spread the word from Meathead (in French):
It is still not working on mobile data but I've found a workaround yesterday. You can play on mobile data with orange if you use a VPN. I got NordVPN yesterday, it works fine if I activate it before launching the game.
It's clearly not ideal, but it saves the day for now.
