Issue with Pet Career Progression in The Sims 2: Legacy Edition

I am experiencing an issue in The Sims 2: Legacy Edition related to pet careers. My Sim has the Lifetime Want for six pets to reach the top of their careers. I recently adopted a pet and started training them for a career. However, I have encountered a problem where the game does not recognize that my pet has learned certain commands required for career advancement.
Specifically, my pet already knows the "Roll Over" command (I can command them to do it, and they perform it correctly), but the career panel does not acknowledge it. Because of this, my pet is unable to get a promotion. Additionally, my pet seems to have learned multiple commands on their own, without my Sim ever training them. However, in the career panel, only the commands that my Sim has manually taught them are listed. The commands that appeared on their own are missing from the panel and seem to be bugged—since they are already learned, I cannot train my pet in them again, but the career system does not recognize them as completed.
I have already tried several troubleshooting steps, including:
- Resetting the pet using "Force Error" from the debug menu.
- Dismissing and rehiring the pet from their job.
- Attempting to retrain the pet in the required command.
- Using the "boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true" cheat to see if I can modify the pet’s learned commands.
None of these solutions have worked, and my pet remains stuck in their career progression. Is this a known bug in the Legacy Edition, and is there a possible fix for it?
