Not able to start time with one family (sims 2 legacy)

Hello! I am unable to turn the time on with one family i have, as soon as I do the game freezes and I have to press building mode or settings to make the game function again. I can do it with other families however. It worked fine for like 3 hours and then all of a sudden it just freezes out of nowhere as I’m playing. Help?
