Cant enter the game

Could you tell us if you are getting any error messages? What happens when you press 'Play' button in the launcher?

Also, are you using the disc version of the game or Origin downloaded version? Do you have your game updated?

I'm not getting any error messages, and If I press play nothing happens. I'm using the discussion vision, and I haven't noticed any game updates, I only updated origin.

You mean when you press 'Play' in Origin, not in The Sims 3 launcher, right?

In that case, please, try to reinstall Origin following these steps:

1. Close Origin completely
2. Manually uninstall Origin: https://help.ea.com/en-za/help/origin/origin/manually-uninstalling-origin/
3. Download Origin from here: https://www.origin.com/store/download
4. Right click on the file you have just download and select 'Run as administrator'
5. Follow the instructions to install Origin

Once Origin is installed again, try to play The Sims 3. Is it working now? 🙂

hi,

i somehow managed to enter the game without reinstulling origin. but my expention packs are gone, it tells me i cant access the birgport sity and all of the late night and high end loft stuff. it got lost because ivedownloaded things from the exchange section, and now i cant play the game with th expention packs even though never removed them.

Could you check if the packs are selected in the Expansions & stuff tab in the launcher? That might explain why you are missing them inside the game 🙂

In that case, and as the issue started when you installed things from the exchange, let's see if reseting your user files helps. Please, follow these steps:

1. Close the game and launcher completely.
2. Go to Documents \ Electronic Arts
3. Rename 'The Sims 3' folder to 'The Sims 3 old'
4. Open Origin and try to play again. If the game opens, you will see you don't have your save games. Please, do not worry, they are in 'The Sims 3 old' and we will try to get your save games back later. We need to know if the game opens properly by doing this first.

Do the packs appear in your game now?

Also, which packs are you missing, all of the packs you have installed and appear in the launcher's 'Expansions & stuff' tab?
