Endless Sound Repetition Error

I have been playing the game for several weeks now and all of a sudden I started having this error. The sound that you hear when you achieve a skill or something along those lines keeps repeating itself over and over. I have quit the game and even shut down my computer but the sound keeps playing over and over again even though my sims aren't doing anything. Does anyone know how to fix this?  Also I just have the downloaded game no discs.

    To fix this problem, cancel all Oppurtunities, Home, Travel, School. It will stop it.

    It's annoying that it STILL happens. Anyway, post before me is 2 years old, but I suppose they mean Opportunity? On the star-shaped tab in the bottom menu. Happy Simming!

    I hate to bring a super dead post back to life, but this just happened to me last week in my unmodded game, and I was hard pressed to find any helpful Google results about it. Anyway, I remembered that I'd forgotten to actually unzip NRaas's Error Trap and Overwatch, saved my game, exited out, and then relaunched and everything was just fine. No moving house, no skill loss, etc. Error trapped, courtesy of Error Trap, I guess? Anyway, if Google leads you here, try that.
