DivinylsFan I would definitely try any save you have from within Al Simhara, just sending them back to see what happens. If one of them does work, in that the homeworld is intact or at least the problems are fixable, you'll need to decide whether you'd prefer to play forward from that point or use your most recent save and repair things there.
The first set of issues you described can probably be fixed. For the business they own, you can of course buy it again, in full from a sim's cell phone if you don't want to go through the "partnership" phase first, and you can cheat them back the money if necessary. The going to work part has workarounds that I can suggest if it comes to that.
And no, I very much doubt Traveler has anything to do with this.
