how do i fix sims3 files. please help
hello so i was having issues with my sims3 files. i had s3pe and every file i was downloading would convert to s3pe. so i uninstalled it.
i don't know why i went ahead and did this but i then right click on one of the sims3 cc files and clicked on open with and clicked on open with ts3 launcher.
now every file i download that is related to sims3 it always converts to the open with launcher and so none of my mods or cc are showing up in game.
is there any way to fix it / stop it from doing this. i want to revert it back to a normal package file. for example when you install a file it usually has a white file logo next to it
where mine has the launcher logo (sims3 logo).
please help if you can as uninstalling and starting again doesn't do anything.
@Kenzie_Simming_ There are two separate issues here. One is the icon you see on .package files. But this isn't a real problem, it's just Windows showing you the default file association, as in, the app that Windows will use to open the file if you double-click it. A blank icon means there is no default app at all.
There's no easy way to "fix" this: Windows doesn't allow you to reset the file association to "none." But like I said, it's not a problem. As long as you don't actually try to open the files, Sims 3 will be able to use them regardless of what Windows thinks they are.
So the question becomes why your mods and custom content aren't showing in-game. Just to make sure you haven't accidentally opened and therefore damaged some of the files, please download a fresh copy of one mod, install it, and see whether it shows up in-game. Remove all the other mods and cc files for now: it's important to test this file by itself first. Be sure to delete the five cache files in your Sims 3 user folder (the folder that contains your saves, mods, etc.) as well:
- CASPartCache.package
- compositorCache.package
- scriptCache.package
- simCompositorCache.package
- socialCache.package
If this mod does NOT show up in-game, please post a screenshot of the contents of the folder it's in, as in, I'd like to see the mod listed in that folder. Include the address bar, above the list of files, in the screenshot.
