Launcher + game bugs/technical problems.

Hopefully I'm making this right but, i'm using the EA app, having taken CD keys and redeemed them in EA so I get my other packs there. I use windows 11.

Processor:
13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-13400F   2.50 GHz

Graphics card:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060

I've uninstalled and installed multiple times, and have gone through so many solutions but I can't seem to find one that's similar to what i'm experiencing. I try to log into the launcher and it just reopens the log-in box no mater how many times I click for it to log in. Doesn't say it's wrong or anything it just doesn't log in, then in the sims 3 for the simport I try to log in there with the password and email that have never changed and it says they're wrong when they aren't.

Before this issue came up, I could log in, make the sim and move it into a house but shortly after moving in the game would completely freeze so i'd have to restart my pc because I couldn't get out of the sims 3 at all and alt + f4 wasn't working nor was I able to open the task manager.

During this entire time the graphics have been off as shown and still aren't loading in even though I have both had all settings at their lowest as well as at their highest. I've been trying to figure this out for 8-9 hours so far and it's involved

- constant install and uninstall
- clearing cache
- reinstalling the EA app
- deleting and moving files
- trying EA - help - app recovery

I don't know what else to do by this point, during one of the attempts to just play the game it showed as if nobody loved in the town and even though people lived in homes they showed as if nobody lived there.

{there is no longer the game fully freezing but freezing on and off}

Please help me know what to do. It feels like i've tried everything.

  • ZodiariumMoon  For the blank launcher, please clear Edge's Internet Explorer-mode data, as described towards the end of this article:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/view-and-delete-browser-history-in-microsoft-edge-00cf7943-a9e1-975a-a33d-ac10ce454ca4

This may or may not help with the password.  If not, does your password contain special characters?  The launcher and game don't handle those well, so try using a password with only letters and numbers.

For the graphics issue, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Please also open DeviceConfig.log, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3, copy the first 40 or so lines (stop when you get to Options), and paste them here.  You can delete your user and computer names, about 20 lines down; the file doesn't contain any other personal information.

For the sims not in houses, if you use any mods, please remove them and start a new save, as a test.  NRaas mods are fine, but anything else is worth removing, at least temporarily.
