Hey all,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you here.
This issue was reported up to The Sims 3 team for investigation in May, who determined that these issues were ultimately caused by changes Apple made starting with macOS Sequoia 15.4.1.
We've engaged with the relevant teams at Apple to investigate further but have no updates beyond that at this time.
In the meantime, some players are finding success with the workaround missfelicityk shared here.

EA_Cade Any update from Apple? My fix stopped working all around and I've not been able to play for months. Haven't tried recently but didn't want to waste a few hours if they haven't fixed it.

You're not alone! I also play on Mac and have done just fine for years! Only now since updating mac i cannot get it to work. ive sent a formal complaint to EA requesting that they consider releasing an update or compatibility patch for The Sims 3 in 2025 to ensure that it works on current and future operating systems - especially as the sims 5 is no longer in progress! hopefully they will hear us as we want to keep playing !
