After updating my Mac to macOS Tahoe 26.2, the The Sims 3 Launcher stopped working correctly.
The launcher crashes every time I click on Downloads or Installed Content. The game itself will launch and run normally only if I don’t click on those sections or try to install/uninstall any content.
Because of this, I completely uninstalled The Sims 3. However, I still can’t play my saved game because it requires a custom world that I now can’t install.
I contacted EA Support again, and an agent updated my account to include the 64-bit Mac version of The Sims 3. I then:
- Restarted my Mac in Safe Boot mode
- Cleared the EA App cache
- Reinstalled the game from the EA App
The problem is that in my EA Library, only “The Sims 3 (Standard Version)” appears. The 64-bit Mac version does not show up at all.
EA agents have told me to wait a few days and that the 64-bit version might appear in my library, but for now I’m completely stuck and unable to play.
Has anyone else experienced this after updating to macOS Tahoe, or found a solution to make the 64-bit version appear in the EA App?

DOWNLOADS UPDATE:
I still can’t open the Downloads / Installed Content sections directly from the Sims 3 Launcher.
BUT I found a workaround that at least lets you keep playing and download new content.Workaround:
- OpenThe Sims 3.
- On theMain Menu (where you choose your save), click the three dots.
- Select“Open Launcher.”
Opening the launcher this way allows the Downloads tab to work, so you can install new worlds and other Sims3Pack content.
Important:
You still won’t be able to uninstall content from the launcher, but this workaround lets you continue playing and adding new content.Hope this helps others until the issue is fixed.
