MAC: Cannot see Installed Content in Sims 3 since last Game Update

Hi all,

Since the last game update in Jan (1.67) I have not been able to see or use any of my installed content in my Sims 3 Game. I can play the game fine, but all the money I spent on content has now been wasted.

I have trolled forums and tried lots of stuff:

- uninstalling/ reinstalling content and games

- deleting .ebc from DDCache

- deleting igs.bin and platform.bin from SigsCache

- downloading everything from the web again and installing it again

So far none of this has worked. I was hoping and update would come from EA games to fix this, but they are too busy churning out games that are full of issues. I have read a lot of people ask EA to do something about this bug but to no avail.

I am on a MacBook Pro 10.8.5 so I am good on the system requirements front. So, if anyone has any advice or other things I can try - that would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Can you please edit the title of your post to read MAC so the MAC helper can find your post. TY

    Hi

So does the Store content appear in the Launcher in the "installed items" tab, but not in game, or does it disappear out of the Launcher too?

It all appears in the launcher as it should and "installs" but it does not appear in the game. It is no where to be found.

OK, try this, which I've cut and pasted from BluebellFlora's Mac help thread:

    Downloaded content not showing up:

If your Store downloads aren't showing up in game try deleting the missingdeps.idx file (thanks to Crinrict), the game will regenerate a new one:

    Finder > Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sim 3 > DCCache > missingdeps.idx

This isn't a sure fire fix as Origin seems to be causing a lot of issues with the Launcher but it's worth a try. For more info read Crinrict's blog post here.

    Hi again,

I'm not sure what is going on but there seem to be increasing numbers of players who are having trouble downloading content. I can only suggest continuing to try, use different browers, download one item at a time rather than in bulk, make sure you have the Launcher open before trying to download anything from the Store site. If I hear of any other fixes I will get back to you.
