Missing Simpoints

Okay, so I tried contacting an "advisor" and EA about a few issues, namely I have an issue where someone appears to log in from a browser that is not in my location (on my security page it shows up something it shouldn't), so initially my concern was over a breach in security on my account [I did the usual change my password, & tried to block that location, but it still pops up] (it also listed a different country and language that I do not speak), so of course this caused some concern, but I didn't think too much of it. I had been away from the game for about 2 years. Imagine my surprise to get back on and find some things aren't quite as they should be.

Secondly, I just bought 4 expansions at the same time (digital), and I suddenly had 5000 sim points, I bought a new neighborhood to put into my game, I should have had roughly 2,800 or so, but then it took all my points and it was all gone. I'm pretty sure this wasn't supposed to happen.

I have tried both email and live chat features and can't seem to get anyone to help me on this issue (losing points is a pretty big issue as this is the equivalent to real money, and in many cases most people do use real money, it just so happens mine came from the expansions (or so I thought). Granted I spent $80 for 4, actually more if you include tax, so I'm a little upset that I can't even get one person to help me with this issue (the person I got sort of re-directed me to the pogo site (which is not really my thing, and it seemed a bit misleading to be honest, in my mind an "advisor" should deal with the problem head-on, not send you somewhere else). Also, I saw nothing on pogo's site that indicated it would connect me to the "live chat" feature. I think what the person meant to say was that through the open case file on a person's EA account you can get the live help.

I notice I'm not the only person with simpoint issues lately, looks like someone else posted recently about a similar issue, so maybe this is a weird glitch.

I mean correct me if I'm wrong, but when did an advisor stop giving help, and started redirecting? I'm not really sure what to do except to call someone about it, but I try to save time by using email, or live chat or even here on the forums, as a way to sort the problem out myself and save time. However, me restoring my own simpoints is not something I can actually do. Does anyone have any advise on this subject, because I'm starting to feel like my business and me as a consumer isn't being taken seriously. I've never had this issue where I've had suspicious activity on my account, followed by missing points. I don't know if it's two separate problems or just part of one? Sorry, if I'm a little cranky over this issue, but I've tried to look into it for two days now and haven't gotten very helpful responses about it. I thought account security and or trying to help customers was a top priority at EA? That's the way it used to be, I remember in the past getting some fairly decent help, but seems like some things have changed. I just hope someone on this board can point me in a helpful direction.

@sailornaru Hi, there's quite a bit of info here, hopefully I didn't miss anything.

From looking at the contact, what you need to to is call, as this is account security related you'll need to pass AOV (account ownership verification)

You should be able to schedule a callback using this link between 9am and 11pm CT: http://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/new/?product=origin&platform=pc&subject=suspicious+account+activity+and+missing+simpoints&category=manage-my-account&issue=manage-security-settings

As for the points, they should be able to take a look and see what happened there. i suspect it's a glitch as you say, but unfortunately it's not really something I can see or affect from this side of things.

Checking on the previous response, sorry about confusion over the Pogo part. It looks like the agent was giving a generic "how to contact support" guide, and it included references to Pogo.

Anyway, sorry that we couldn't directly assist, but phone support should be able to get to the bottom of this.

    Thanks.

  • Thank you for the help. I'll do that as soon as I can, but I do have work coming up (as I work a night shift). I know weird glitches can happen, though can't say I've had it happen directly on the sim bio page. I appreciate someone getting back to me, though I know it might not seem like the most pressing thing.
