  • @sunshinelee18  Please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  Don't add anything to it yet; just start a new save and see whether CAS still crashes.  Additionally, don't change any of the graphics settings with the exception of the resolution and switching to fullscreen or windowed mode.  But for the resolution, don't go above 1920x1080, at least for now.

If you get another crash, disable Advanced Rendering in the graphics options.  Change the setting at the Main Menu and quit to desktop before loading a save.

@sunshinelee18  If you use custom content shoes, that might well be the issue.  But some bad cc can affect categories other than the ones the original items belong to, so it's not definitive.

Did the clean folder work, or was the problem Advanced Rendering?  If the clean folder helped, you'll need to sort through your custom content.  For anything you've installed into the Packages folder, like you would a mod, you can use the 50/50 method:

For cc installed through the launcher, use this guide:

Method by Mell is useful not only for searching the launcher but for testing one .dbc file (bundled custom content) at a time in-game.  Even if you find you need to delete an entire .dbc file, you'll still be able to use the others.
