EEMackie The newer Sims 3 crashes in your dxdiag point to the graphics driver, and this driver is known to have issues with some DirectX 9 games. So try updating the driver to the newest one Intel offers for your processor and graphics chip:
Run the installer as an admin: right-click the driver and select "Run as administrator." Restart your computer after installing and before trying to play.
If you get an error when trying to install this driver, that's just HP software blocking the installation of any driver not provided directly by HP. There's a way around it:
