Sims 3 FPS Probpem
I'm trying to play the Sims 3 again, but the FPS reset itself. When I tested the game out at first, the FPS was under 150. However, now it's between 300 - 400 or maybe even more and it won't go down....
@elleskyheart Since you're playing through the EA App, please make sure you've set the fps limit to apply to TS3.exe, without the W.
If that's not the issue, and you're using the Lazy Duchess Smooth Patch, you could use its built-in fps limiter instead. Or you could use RivaTuner Statistics Server, again applied to TS3.exe. Just make sure RTSS is running before you open the game. It can be minimized to the Tray, but not closed.
There are lots of ways to limit in-game framerates, and the "best" one is the one that's most convenient for you.
@elleskyheart If you have no other use for the Smooth Patch, you don't need to install it. RTSS will be the better option because it won't change anything about Sims 3 other than limiting the framerates. Once you've installed it, you should see something like this:
Add the appropriate .exe (highlighted in blue), set the Framerate limit to whatever you want (red box), and either set it to start with Windows or not (yellow box), whatever is easier for you. RTSS does need to be running while you play, but you can minimize it to the Tray if you like.
You'll also need to restart your computer after installing RTSS and before expecting it to work.
