sims 3 keeps minimizing and crashing

Hello guys, I recently got a new hp pavilion 15 laptop and have been trying to play the sims 3 but every time I do it my windows keeps minimizing or going to the desktop. Last time when I started the game after downloading all my games(generation, ambitions, late night, seasons) it kept minimizing and then my laptop eventually crashed with a "video tdr failure". This all happened without any custom contents installed. I thought that maybe its because I have too many expansion packs but still reduce it didn't fix it nor did running it into a windows 7 or 8 compability mode. what to do? Any help will really be appreciate.

My processor is intel core i5-825OU Processor

(6M cache, up to 3.40 GHz)

Graphics adapter: Intel UHD graphics 620

Memory: 12 GB

@Cornxelie  The most common reason for video TDR error is the video chip has over heated and stopped working and the driver is trying to recover or you have exceeded the capabilities of the video chip. First there is a major update for Windows 10 - Your Window 10 should be at version 1709 not 1703. Next there is a newer video driver for the 620 chip which could help for this issue. I think the update is the creator's update - make sure you have plenty of time as this is a big update. Make sure there is plenty of ventilation so the vents can circulate air through the computer. Bring to computer up to date and try ther game.

Alright , I’ve tried updating any of these but laptop wouldn’t let me , saying that it’s up to date and when I try updating my driver it says the same thing and I cannot update manually.

@Cornxelie  Did you go to the Intel site? Google Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 graphics drivers and download and run the driver installer. You are right - Windows 10 is at the right version - the Creators update. Do you have the Windows 10 Pro Education version?

Yes , i directly went to the intel websites and have just decided to uninstall the whole sims game considering I only have a 1.60 hz of processor. Since it’s a brand new laptop I can just return it for a stronger laptop.

@Cornxelie  The I5-8250U  has a turbo speed of up to 3.4Ghz but I would prefer an idle speed to be at least equal to the minimum (2.4Ghz) required for the software I'm running. The video system is used hard also. It would be nice to get a dedicated video processor (chip). With video resolutions continue to increase and VR starting to gain in popularity, a strong gaming computer would a good investment.

Update. So my laptop automatically updated to windows creator update and I started playing the sims 4 which worked just fine so I thought that I would try again with sims 3 and suddenly it works without minimizing. I also had all my settings to low and I’m going to try to see how it would work with 2 more expansions installed.
