Sims 3 won't launch, no error message

KAMO17062403  Are you getting the "serious error" message, or something else?  Does the launcher even open?  There are a lot of reasons the game might crash or fail to load, and the OP of this thread has a specific one that's unrelated to most other problems.

I’m not getting a message. The launcher loads fine, when I click play it brings up a screen then bounces back to the EA App

KAMO17062403  Please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

KAMO17062403  Please manually uninstall and reinstall your VC++ 2005 x86 runtime, which Sims 3 uses and a component of which is the faulting module in all the Sims 3 crashes.  Open Windows Settings > Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, click the 2005 entry (it won't say x86 at all, but that's what it is), and uninstall.  You can get a new version here:

You only need the x86 version; skip the other two.  Restart your computer after installing and before trying to play.

KAMO17062403  Please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you open the launcher, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just see whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode.

If the game runs fine in the clean folder, you can start moving your saves and other content to it from the old folder a little at a time, testing to make sure the game is still working.  You don't need to transfer everything, just the files that contain content you'd like to preserve.  Here's a description of everything in the folder, so you know what to transfer:

If the new folder doesn't help, please reinstall the other runtimes Sims 3 uses, which need to work properly with the VC++ 2005 runtime.  For DirectX 9, please do this:

Forl .NET Framework 3.5, click Windows key-R, enter appwiz.cpl in the run box, click "Turn Windows features on or off," and you'll see .NET 3.5 near the top of the list.  Click the filled-in box to uninstall the runtime, and restart your computer.  Repeat the process, clicking the now-empty box to reinstall, and restart again.

Thankyou so much! I tried the first thing and it finally loaded and I can play now. Its not a huge issues cause im just happy i can finally play but it won't recognise my saves even though they are in the folder and it will recognise my downloads but nothing in my mods file. 

KAMO17062403  I'm glad the game is working at least.  For the saves and mods that won't load, you'd need to move them to the new Sims 3 folder the game created, AND make sure that they're not nested in a subfolder.  For example, if you put your old Saves folder inside the new Saves folder, the game wouldn't be able to read them.

If you need further help, please post screenshots of the contents of the folders that contain your saves and mods, as in, I'd like to see the file names and sizes.  Include the address bar, above the list of files and folders, in each screenshot.

I have moved the saves and they are being recognised now, but my mods and CC packages still aren't, I've attached all the screenshots.
