Sims 3 Won't Work

My Sims Hasn't Been Working.

I love the Sims 3, but currently I have been having problems. I can open Origin and the Sims 3 Launcher easily, no problems at all, but whenever I click the arrow to play or install new custom content, it loads for like five seconds then turns black, saying there is a problem, Windows is trying to find a solution (yet they never do) and etc. I've then contacted EA for help. The person helped out and I explained the problem. The person told me that it is a bug or glitch that they need to fix- and this was a few days ago, maybe even a week. I've tried again and today I decided to contact EA again for help, but there is no online chatrooms, only you can use by phone, with paying a fee. I decided not to call. I am just very worried something wrong has happened to my game. I know I should be patient, but maybe that wasn't the problem.

Go to Documents > Electronic Arts and move your Sims 3 folder out onto your desktop. Now try loading the game. Does it work?

@Bluebellflora I did what you said, and it didn't work. The only thing it did was remove all my custom content. The same thing happened when I tried to play. Thanks for trying to help, though.

It will create a new folder so the game is like new again. If the game then launches it means the error is in your user data somewhere. Have you installed any new mods recently that may have changed core game files and caused this?

@Bluebellflora No, I haven't installed any mods recently. Is there any other way to do this other than starting it fresh and it being almost like new again? I tried downloading and installing the superpatch thing and it didn't work...

So did you still get the black screen after moving the whole Sims 3 folder? Or did it launch like a new game? If it launched it's something in your user data. This could be your in game settings which are stored in the Options.ini file, or a corrupted save, or conflicting/dodgy CC.

@Bluebellflora Okay, I am currently gathering my information. Where should I save it as a text file? (I don't want to place it in a bad spot, just being cautious.)

Just save it onto your desktop and then copy and paste here as Crin has recommended in the DxDiag post 🙂
