Bunnymally To be clear, is the current issue that your sim can't return home, or are you unable to load the save at all? Do you use mods, or are you willing to add a few? I can make some recommendations, including a mod that's specifically created to prevent travel-related issues.
I've used mods before. I tend to be wary of it, but I hate this travel glitch... It might be worth a shot.
It lets me save progress in china, where the chick basically lives now.... but if I go to "edit town" and try to switch families or edit a lot (which I stumbled on on accident) and save, it says "can't save unless in original game" or something. I'll have to restart my whole daggum computer to pull it up again -_-; because at the moment, it's just... frozen. and I cannot even close the window manually.
