The Sims 3 Store and The Sims Medieval - problems

I have a problem with The Sims 3 and The Sims Medieval.

The Sims 3

I bought some things in the Store. When I install one of the last 3 bought objects, the game can't see this. When I run the game or close the starter program, an object is shown as uninstalled.

I have already clicked "fix" [near "play"] on EA and I cleared the cache. I also uninstalled EA [former origin] but it didn't help. There is still the problem, I don't know what to do.

The Sims Medieval

[Pirates and Nobles]

EA made me wait because it couldn't run the game. I had to turn off and turn on my laptop to play the game. Suddenly, it totally stopped working after turning off and turning on the device.

When I click "fix" [near "play"], it changes the language. When I select the Polish language [I write "pl-PL" in the registry editor], it can't work again. I already uninstalled EA and The Sims Medieval and installed it again but there is still the same situation.

What should  I do?

I use PC, everything worked before.

  • @Hyluss  For the Sims 3 Store issue, which item is this?  Can you install it into a clean user folder?  Please try and let me know either way.  For more details about Store-related troubleshooting, please see this thread:

For Sims Medieval, please create a new thread in the Other Sims Games forum.  You can copy and paste what you wrote here.

I already fixed this problem. I moved the file named "DCCache" from "Documents/ElectronicArts/TheSims3" and I finally could install the objects. Except one because the starter program didn't see this totally.

Now I have another problem. Yesterday when I tried to fix the issue during chatting with EA Desk, there showed another error - HTTP 500. The starter program makes me log in all the time [although I am logged in] and I can't download that one object 😬

The item is "Country Life" but it doesn't matter what item. There is a problem connecting the starter program with the Internet. It was broken for more people in December, I don't know if others have the same problem now again or if I just have this problem.

  • @Hyluss  It's called the launcher, and I haven't seen any other reports of it being broken in the last couple weeks.  So it's most likely an issue on your end.

It would be whether clearing Edge's IE-mode data helps, and if not, whether a new user folder fixes it.  The idea is not to delete your content but to test in a new folder.

"whether a new user folder fixes it.  The idea is not to delete your content but to test in a new folder."

Can you tell me more about this solution?

  • @Hyluss  Remove or rename the Sims 3 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts.  Either one will prevent the game from reading the contents of the folder, but all its data will still be intact.  Clear Edge's IE-mode data (again).  Open the launcher to spawn a new Sims 3 folder, and try to download Country Living again.  Let me know whether it works, and what happens if it doesn't, and also whether you see any other issues.

There is a way to combine the Store content from the old and new folders, if you're interested.  But if you only own a few items, it would be simpler to reinstall your Store content into the new folder, and it's also more reliable.  Still, the first step is to figure out whether you can get Country Living installed at all.
