The Sims 3 uses around 100 gb of RAM on MACos

Hello!

I have iMac on M3 with 16 gb RAM and 1Tb of SSD.

The Sims 3 runs kinda fine, BUT it uses 95 gb of RAM when I open the System Monitor App. I had no problems playing the game until it froze once. Then I checked the system performance and saw the game used nearly 100 gb of RAM. I'm afraid it will ruin my computer one day. And the game started to lag already a bit...

How do I fix it? I have no CC or mods. I play in the city from The Sims 3 Pets DLC.

Some of the bigger problems relate to routing: a sim or animal gets stuck and the game engine falls all over itself to fix it.  Since you're playing in Appaloosa Plains, I should also mention that there's a bug where the game constantly tries to calculate routing for a large dog to be washed in a bathtub.  This can happen (thousands of times per second) even when there's no attempt and no reason to bathe the dog.  The fix for that is to remove bathtubs in any house that has a large dog.  For the more general routing issues, I can recommend a mod or two, if you're interested.
