The Sims3 Download time

If its through a disk it shouldn;t take that long unless you have an absolute CRAP computer. Mine took 20-30 mins to download.

My computer is less than two years old and I have been downloading for over 2 hours already and it's only at 20%. I don't know why this is occuring as all the content is on the disk I just purchased. I am getting quite frustrated as I have spent hours trying to solve this problem.

Any other ideas?

So, I purchased The Sims3 Disc and was trying to install through Origin, but after 5 hours and 20% I become too frustrated and tried to find other solutions. I read on a forum that if I stop the download, delete the files that had already downloading, re-entered the code, and then ran the program through setup it would read from the disc, rather than from origin. My internet is very tempromental and I can't use live chat or call an oporator as I live in Australia and it's out of hours.

Origin now states that my code has already been redeemed. I just want to play the game that I bought on disc because I wanted to avoid internet drama!

Should be the same for Sims 3. Just do the same for Sims 3 instead of Mass Effect 3.
