Welcome page blank and unable to install cc

Since yesterday I have been unable to access the welcome page to log in. This has been since attempting to install CC to my game as I have recently re-downloaded the game to a new computer. The CC content isn't showing up and when I attempt to exit out of the broken launcher I get a message saying 'The downloading process is running. Do you want to cancel this process and exit the application'

I have cleared caches and changed my notification settings on the EA app which I saw as advice for similar issues. I have removed the cc files in case they were the issue but still nothing seems to be fixing the problem. Any solutions or ideas would be helpful

    lilymyoung22  Did you clear the cache and cookies for Edge's Internet Explorer-mode data?  Even if you never use Edge, the launcher does for some purposes.

    If that doesn't help, please move or rename the Sims 3 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts, so that the game creates a new one when you open the launcher.  Doing so will prevent your saves and other user data from loading, but that can be restored later.  The idea is to test the launcher itself, and, if it's working, the custom content you'd like to use, in the new folder, and only then transfer it to your old Sims 3 folder or transfer your other content to the new folder.

    Hi thanks for your reply! I cleared the cache and cookies, as well as removing the sims 3 file from my documents folder. I then retried opening the launcher and the issue still remains. Any other ideas?

    lilymyoung22  As a test, try using a new admin Windows account.  Make it local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account or any email address.  You'll be able to open the launcher and play without reinstalling anything, but your saves and other user data won't be available.  That's fine for the purposes of this test and can be addressed later if you want.
