No thanks. We have swimming in Britechester and Mt. Komorebi. Swimming is swimming regardless of the location. Boring. I'd rather that time, money and valuable data space not be wasted on something we can do in some worlds already.
so you just wanna keep putting ugly swimming pools next to gorgeous beach as if it makes sense?
so many of older pack worlds just scream let my sims swim and boat here and its awful shame we can't do that
like what really is point of living next to water if you cant use the water you tell me
Firstly, swimming pools aren't ugly unless you build them that way and I don't.
Secondly, beaches are totally usable. You can do most anything you want to there if you are prepared. Camp out, bonfires, etc.
Thirdly, even S3 was limited oceanwise and no matter what they add, we will never get ocean game play anywhere close to S3.
Fourthly, even in Sulani, where sims can swim in the ocean and interact with dolphins and sharks, your sim still can't dive while you watch. Diving in the world made for mermaids to swim in, is a rabbit hole waterhole. Sure, you can take pretty pictures to collect but there's no actual following your sims down under water. So, if they made Sulani, a water world, that shallow (pun intended), they aren't going to do anything close to fun or (pun alert) deep in old worlds.
Now, my question to you is, other than just swim in circles (which you can do in Sulani, Britechester and Mt. Komorebi) until your sim is too tired to continue or drowns, what, exactly, do you want in terms of actual game play to be added to ALL water in all worlds?
I'm not poking fun, I really want to know if all you want is to swim in any water anywhere or, if you have bigger plans in mind. And this question is to everyone that wants ocean swimming in all worlds.
Also, I'd be curious to know how much time you spend in Sulani where you can swim anywhere anytime and sail a boat and jet ski and dive and interact with dolphins. After the release and playing it to find out all the fun to be had, how often do you go back there to enjoy all those ocean game play features and please, be honest.
As for me, after opening my new toy and playing with it, I got bored and moved on when the next pack was dropped and haven't been back since. And I doubt if watching my sim deep dive to a treasure chest or get eaten by a shark would have changed that.
for me its more about immersion and storytelling because to me its very hard to going back to brindleton and windenburg after i got sulani
and granite falls well... lakeside cabins would be used much more if lake was usable
I really love to play on islands and waterside lots but I keep feeling like my sims should be able to use that so i keep moving them to sulani but i don't want them to live in tropical setting all the time
as for university world I don't really live in that world because its so themey that i feel weird about staying there when my sims are not going to university
and mt. komorebi I wouldn't know cause i don't have the pack yet but it still doesn't fill the void of other types of islands to live on
(though i appreciate even these for my mermaids and uni party needs)
also as for the activities just being on the surface of water i do not mind that cause well I personally don't tend to do underwater activities and so i don't feel the lack as much (even if it would have been fun addition)
I would have liked them to add surfing and let more than one sim on boats, zips and floaties in IL
(cause id love those as couple activity especially it would have been cute)
they could also have added rafts paddle boats...maybe like mini yachts could have been fun with more than one sim
as for pool specific id like the old style diving board and water slides and maybe like water bars or floatie bars but i don't care for those as much because even if i do use pools sometimes its more like i use them for venues
either way I want open water locations in old worlds because the locations are perfect for it and regardless of if there is updates or new water activities id still use it tons
I think every world should have off lot activities suited to it and for places like granite falls brindleton and windenburg that is water activity
i wouldn't argue that for places like strangerville for example cause that world has its own theme that has none to do with swimming and boating
but in worlds full of water it seems off to not be able to use it
like to summarize: would you really like sulani if you couldn't use the water and still had to just build pools regardless of having house on beach? don't think so
