Bug Reports and Feedback Posts

EA_Solaire EA_Cade TheSimsDirect

This is feedback in regards to both the Bug Report and Feedback forums. I think it would be very beneficial if, especially during this year of bug fixes (and unknowing what next year will bring), if there is just a little more transparency on what you are willing to fix and what you are not willing to fix. As upvotes and reproduceable, clearly are not the only deciding factors if something is going to get a fix. Do note I completely understand not every report can/would result in a fix. Especially, if mods/cc are in the mix.

Graphic Quality and Errors - Will these really be considered? I have posted poor graphic alignment and it was just shoved into feedback. Shadow errors are numerous and growing, but since collection reports do not exist anymore (so tons of upvoted collections reports disappeared overnight) will it really be by upvotes or will they all be considered?

Missing and Wrong Swatches - For Quality Assurance reasons, these really should be taken seriously even if not the most upvotes. And the more recent swatches seem to be getting worse in quality.  Is this something that will be considered or unless an outcry?

Tuning File and String File Errors - If the tuning files/string files are provided, and the error or fix is relatively straight forward. Shouldn't these be streamlined as it should be in theory a quick and easy fix? As internally most players assume the game is working according to tooltips.

Feature Errors - When features such as Milestones, relationship/family trees issues, etc. can get a lot of upvotes, but sometimes are ignored for months or years even after being Verified. Will/can these be at least have more transparency if and when a fix will happen? Maybe adding more cheat features for players to fix themselves (usually available through mods but an official cheat would at least be a way to fix for those who do not use mods).

Animation Glitches and Errors - From what I can understand this is another Quality Assurance reason, unless it is caused by mods, which would usually render the glitch/error moot.

Feedback Ideas/Posts - Are list posts even being considered? or are only 1 topic and highly upvoted/liked even looked at? If there are no more EPs/GPs/SPs coming can you are least let us know so we are not wasting our own time posting and hoping? And if the team doesn't even know the future of that game, maybe just say that? Transparency is usual appreciated from a fan base.

Otherwise, why are the EA staff not utilizing their basically free/volunteer fan base more? There are many players posting thorough/detailed bug reports, in some cases en mass. Some of these players are doing some deep diving investigations, and usually in the form of quality assurance. From what is basically the player base is assuming if working correctly, and even if they notice may not report as they are more, and are more disillusioned from the quality of the franchise at this point in time, and may take it upon themselves to get mods to fix, or simply play with it knowingly broken.

Basically, less people are reporting or upvoting because of a myriad of reasons such as: They give up, they think the game is dead anyways, the fixes haven't made their game playable enough to bother trying to look into other bug/glitch/errors, etc. Even if Sims 4 is winding down, it would be nice to know what will be prioritized (as upvotes are clearly not enough of a deciding factor) and what will be passed over.

Please EA moderators, devs and staff give a little more attention (and the benefit of doubt) to the basically free/volunteer fan base who are going out of their way to help improve the game better and their posts such as: DestroyerSims  canelacaliente  SproutLee  rozza_sims as a few examples.

Thank you in advance for your consideration. I only post this as I believe in the franchise and want the best for both the players and staff alike.

I admit I may settle for a minimum standard for bug fixes. But I'd like to know what that is first. Not judged by upvotes, since that is clearly not the determiner if a bug is fixed or not. Just be upfront. I'll then just report the bugs within that range.

I know most tuning file bugs/errors fixes, technically take a modder/dev minutes to fix (yet can have the least upvotes). Where as animation, graphics, missing swatches or features issues may be much longer to fix or harder to replicate? But they are more noticeable by the average player base (more upvotes).

  • Yeah it really is getting ridiculous at this point how little they're actually fixing. I get it there's more pressing bugs that affect the game, but all of the bugs should be taken seriously. Like we shouldn't have to wait years for simple fixes. Lots of us have payed good money on this game just to have it unfinished and broken. Also why is so much of their resources going to promoting some of these bug fixes, it looks really bad to advertise that they launched a broken game. At this point unless they start fixing more bugs rapidly, I'm loosing interest reporting for this game....not to mention playing it. Never trusting/buying an EA Sims Game again if they leave a majority of these bugs unfixed. Poor console players if so.
