I know this is quite old at this point, however, your point is not only wrong but it is also unreasonably antagonistic, the freedom to change the keybindings is essential in every game, not just FPS or RTS games, people have different preferences, whether or not those style of play are more reflective of either is irrelevant, the end point is to make the gamer/customer satisfied with being able to adjust the game they bought and paid for, to their specific style of play, whether or not the existing keybinds are accessible does not necessarily mean they are better or worse, but for the end user, if they are uncomfortable with these keybinds, whether it's personal preference, habit, or just plain hand placement and positioning, the truth is, the reason this feature exists in every single game is common knowledge and company to consumer courtesy. The only reason a game wouldn't introduce them is either technical limitations of the engine itself or cost to employ people to develop this feature due to a MASSIVE oversight in game design and development, taking away time, effort, and capital from DLC generation and creation.
It's clear now even in the far flung future that this game is in fact a cash grab, which is fine and reasonable, given that's the ultimate end goal of any company or corporation, however, to neglect this feature from existence, a customer may or may not read this, and decide, maybe this game isn't for me, whether it's because of the nature and relationship of the company itself, not being able to accommodate people with physically limiting disabilities, or even actively antagonizing their favorite genre of game.
You might consider your intentions NOT inherently antagonistic in nature and merely matter of fact. But the truth in that is, it is antagonistic to blatantly point out one's personal habits as a negative comparison to anything, even your own game, and to say it would be unwise or uncouth to treat it as so. Thus, it is in fact, very antagonistic.
Now you might be thinking, well they've already made millions billions! What does it matter if a couple people decide not to buy. This point is needlessly argumentative and not based in reality!
However what you my friend, fail to realize, is this is called loss of potential profit. When simple common sense is applied, potential lost revenue, regardless of how much money you have, is still in fact, potential. revenue. lost. Something as simple as a small hypothetical scenario can speculate, -3 customers, is tantamount in 2023 as a loss of anywhere between $90 to upwards of around $2,985, now mind you, the amount of people who decide not too play because of this factual negligence is most likely to be greater than 3 measly people.
In that point, I rest my case.
