I think it would be cool if we can choose our own colors to use in build create mode in game to fit more of the personality of the people playing the game. Add more option for color schemes to make your own from wall to trim to carpet and tiles.
Adding a color wheel or even just the ability to switch colors of specific parts of an object or piece of clothing would require a fundamental change to how textures work. The developers would have to go through well over 12,000 individual assets. At this point in the game's lifespan I fear it is simply too late.
Adding new swatches here and there is definitely something they could do though, and have done a couple of times already with base game assets. (And it still isn't enough!) It could be cool if they would also bring in some DLC assets to that as well.
I would love Universal Base Game and Cross-Pack Swatches. Lack of universal swatch consistency/harmony is really annoying. I was a big Sims 3 builder (multiple featured builds and even a featured guest blogger), but in Sims 4 I am going insane with the lack of cohesion between swatches for base game and packs. So I hardly have any builds, and just don't know what to do—have no desire to get extra kits as no promises to getting swatch matches.
