Expansion game pack idea!!

Expansion Pack Idea: Regency Romance for The Sims 4

Hello Simmers!

I would love to suggest a Regency-era inspired expansion pack for The Sims 4 inspired by the romance, fashion, and social drama seen in Bridgerton. The Sims has explored historical themes before with The Sims Medieval, and bringing a Regency world to Sims 4 would create a completely new storytelling experience.

🌍 New World
A Regency-inspired world based on 1800s England with areas inspired by:
• London high society
• Scottish countryside estates
• Royal gardens and promenades
• Grand manor homes and ballrooms

💎 New Aspirations
Queen’s Diamond of the Season – Become the most admired debutante.
Find a Love Match – Secure a romance-based marriage.
Become a Viscount – Rise in status and manage a noble household.
Society Scandal Writer – Spread rumors and influence social reputation.

🎭 New Gameplay Systems
• Debutante balls and royal social events
• Courtship mechanics (letters, chaperones, secret meetings)
• Family reputation and social class influence
• Arranged marriage and strategic matchmaking
• Social scandals that impact reputation

👗 Create-A-Sim
• Regency gowns and empire waist dresses
• Tailcoats, waistcoats, gloves, and fans
• Period hairstyles and accessories

🏛 Build/Buy Mode
• Regency architecture and manor estates
• Ballrooms and formal gardens
• Carriages and tea parlors

The popularity of historical romance shows like Bridgerton shows there is a huge audience for this theme. A Regency expansion would allow players to tell dramatic love stories, social rivalries, and family legacy gameplay in a completely new way.

I truly believe something like “Regency Romance” could become one of the most beloved expansions for The Sims 4.

Would anyone else love to see something like this added to the game?

  • I'd be down for that, or, better yet, a standalone game in the vein of The Sims Medieval (but with better customisation and true sandbox play (though I would object to an optional 'quest' mode) .  Back in Sims 3 days, another regular on the forums and I came up with stacks of ideas for Regency-themed gameplay.  In the real Regency era, gender roles were pretty rigid so I'd love to see all options available for sims regardless of their gender.

I'm a sucker for a Napoleonic era uniform so that's something I'd love to see .  I'm not Lydia Bennet, honest!

I've heard people say that it might not have been a coincidence that Royalty and Legacy came out around the same time as new Bridgerton episodes, and while I can see that, I think the pack can probably only go so far towards replicating that kind of world.  I haven't bought the pack yet, though I probably will get it eventually.

  • One reason I am disappointed we do not have GP or SP anymore. Some EPs could have gone the distance (but came up short) and a GP or SP could top off what was missing from existing EPs.

If R&L had a complimentary pack like Medieval, Victorian, Tudor, Regency, etc. to fill in what they missed out in but to use in conjunction with Noble Career, Dynasties, etc. Those who wanted a more era noble pack can, and those who wanted to stay modern could.

Or if IL had a complimentary pack to expand Mermaids, adding ability tree, underwater living, etc.

I honestly, am thinking about suggesting even a RoM upgrade (instead of refresh) to have the GP -> EP. Since Spellcasters seem like the favoured occult (even to those who don't really play occults). Turn the 1 neighborhood into 3, add more spells, more cross-pack occult friendliness, a spellcaster career, more BB/CAS, add fantasy recipes, more fantasy plants, maybe an occult school for children to young adults, add more floating isle in the Realm of Magic (make it a non hidden world), etc. And those who already own RoM could get a slight discount for upgrading to it to EP.

I think one issue is either a good portion, or even the majority of Sim players do not want or at least do not need an era or occult based game. They mainly play realism or slight fantasy sprinkled gameplays. Which leaves those chasing era or occult gameplay in a lurch.

This makes it very difficult for those so close to having their preferred themed or playstyle game... but always short because the game still has Sims heavily dependent on mobile phone and computer just for gameplay (careers, aspirations, skills, etc.).
