Family Members losing noble titles after King/Queen dies. R & L deserves better!
I know I've seen people post about this, and I understand that this is a design choice that The Sims 4 made, but I'm sorry, it is totally wrong. The choice to make entire families lose their noble titles once the monarch in the noble career dies is WILD. Why even have the option of a title by marriage/parents if, when they die, everyone just becomes a commoner?? Because my king died (he had his wife (queen by marriage), an heir, and a spare), the heir became king, the spare lost all of her titles and became a commoner, and the widowed queen became the Dame of Magnolia Promenade only because the family happened to have owned a business there... Yes, somehow the game knew to bestow that title on her but not anyone else in the family who lost theirs?! Not sure what happens if they don't own a business anywhere, but I imagine the titles just completely go away.
It takes you COMPLETELY out of the fantasy to have your whole family randomly reverted to commoners; mind you, it's not like you can be a noble and do anything else with your sims (which can also be debated as a miss), so having the ability for sims with noble titles by relationship to keep their titles and also explore other careers (like a charity organizer or politician) should have been a must and thought of. So now, the spare is just a commoner, and everyone freaks out when she interacts with nobles, and it turns into a scandal when, really, she's the ONLY sister of the KING. Poor, poor, poor design choice. This would NEVER happen in real life, and it honestly makes the entire concept of royalty like null and void. To me, one of the most significant aspects of being royal is the line of succession and the possession of titles, and between the glitchy noble titles, this poor design choice, and the fact that noble titles are not displayed on Sims' graves after they die (and there are no new tombstones for royals), it doesn't feel like this part of the game was fleshed out properly at all. Please please please look into fixing this. The concept of this pack is way too good, and it is way too fun for there to be world-building and imagination-killing mishaps like this.
