Feedback: The Royalty and Legacy Pack

Hello,

So, I am disappointed about this pack for a few reasons:

A lot of the newer packs haven't come with a new death animation style. I think that the last time we had a death was the fairy pack (for fairies) and for all sims it was the Life and Death pack. I am incredibly disappointed with how packs have been lately. They don't include items for a full kitchen or bathroom. There's no toilet in this expansion pack but there is a sink and a bathtub. It seems like it is missing a lot of items. The re-used items like the plant from Romantic Garden and there's a couple others that are coming to mind but i cannot remember the packs they were in that look similar. They could have just left out. In my opinion if it is an expansion pack it should include the basics like a full kitchen and bathroom at least and a new death animation.

I wish Dynasties were able to be a bit more customizable where you could customize the ideals. For example, I like the Mysterious Occult, but I don't like that it has the frowned upon is doing funny interactions. I would have liked a customizable option for an ideal that would allow me to select this kind of like what you see in getaways or in the business and hobbies pack UI (where it gives activities). The last pack was definitely better than this pack when talking about this level of depth and customizations offered in the pack.

These other minor things aside, the thing I am most upset about is that there is no pirate CAS in this pack, there's no career to be a pirate or like any added features to be a pirate. I know there are workarounds for this. Because of the lore of this pack with princess Cordelia and her love of pirates I thought this would include more pirate stuff. There is some pirate CAS (not much) from the spooky pack with the costumes. I just thought that the pack would include more pirate stuff or the Oceanographer career that is only available in the Sims 2 (without mods). I bought this for the lore and I am disappointed.

Some other general feedback: The Sim's 4 team blames people for using what they paid for, but they put all those items in those packs (with lag or performance issues and using too many items per build or using too many packs). It came across as victim blaming to me. These packs would have been just fine as a stuff pack or without the reused pieces of furniture. Also why are you selling the for-rent pack that is known to cause file corruption and malicious software on PCs and possibly console. I had to stop playing the sims 4 on MAC OS (silicone) because it was corrupting my hard drive and the experts at apple said it was the sims/ea app causing this corruption. Also, the Sims 3 hasn't been updated in a long time, and Ea/the sims keep selling these games and they don't work. that is unethical to say the least. if you don't offer support for it, you shouldn't sell it, but the sims like to sell content that is broken like my wedding stories or for rent pack.

I am just sharing my thoughts and opinions. I wish there was more pirate stuff and maybe that would come in a pack in the future.

  • I thought death by Coocoo Clock was added?

Personally, I like that Mysterious frowns upon funny interactions it matches my theme and playstyle. However! I do think there should be 2+ different occult type Ideals maybe Mysterious (for serious/macabre occult theme) and Mystic (for light hearted/positive occult theme).

I think the one hooded outfit and eye patch is suppose to be Pirate, but there is only 1 swatch for the outfit. There should have been more pirate CAS (and BB where is my sexton?), and heck this should have been a Medieval themed royalty pack and have more Medieval CAS! I think this was too sexy version of Bridgeton? I honestly don't know I never watched LOL.

Honestly, at this late stage popular mods should be added to the game (as an option) and devs can make sure an update does not break dev backed mods or game saves! And the original modder can get credit and provide direct support/fixes/updates with the devs if they so desire to. Work with your community dang it!

  • I totally agree, a pirate career would have been wonderful.

I'm also very frustrated at the lack of aspirations. There's only one bad guy one! URGH.

A Royal Bloodline under family would have been awesome!

Also... Like once you reach the end of the Nobility Career. What then? .... And it's not like non-player households are creating dynasties. It's just a bit... Boring.

Yeah, BB was disappointing for the amount of items that were barely changed items from previous packs. Frankly, the kitchen counters and appliances felt cheap for a nobility pack.

I figured with all the pirate talk in the lore that there would be pirate stuff like a pirate career, pirate CAS, pirate aspiration, etc. I found this omission to be a bit shocking.

I think blacksmithing would have been a natural skill to add to the pack so sims could make and sell swords or repair swords broken during duels.

Given the world in this EP, I think this pack would have been a great opportunity to add in a new harvestable that's been absent for too long: oranges

I share the opinion that the "Mysterious" dynasty trait (or whatever it's called) is a bit off. I find it irritating that Sims in my Mysterious dynasty autonomously tell jokes and it counts against them bc they're supposedly so serious. How dare you be a witch with a sense of humor.

And, I wanted to have a spellcaster dynasty that encourages working on their spellcasting ability, but bc it's not a skill, it's not possible. Casting spells increases the dynastic legacy or whatever.

Also, I've made this point elsewhere, but I think it's incredibly short-sighted of EA to not increase interconnectedness between packs. Picture this:

Buying the royalty pack adds content to existing packs. So, if you already own Crystal Creations and you buy the royalty pack, you can now create custom tiaras and crowns at the gemology table. Perhaps daggers?

Maybe you could add poison making to the various packs that have potion making (get to work, outdoor retreat, fairies, realm of magic, etc).

With increased interconnectedness, it creates exclusive additional content and builds excitement that would increase a desire for simmers to buy packs they have been reluctant to buy.
