That allows all properties that are in the current around your Sims home or where your Sim should be loaded in all at once so no loading screens between the bar next-door and the gym next door loading screens only for areas outside of your Sims current walking distance a bit like what the Sims 3 on consoles had
That wouldn't work for me. I play rotationally and it would mess up my gameplay. It was a mess in TS3 and it will be a mess in TS4 and open neighbourhoods only work if you play one household only. People are already complaining that there is not enough activity in some neighbourhoods, imagine how they will be if all lots will be loaded simultaneously and all sims will be at work or going to work how they did in TS3 and all lots will be empty.
i bet the team can figure something out, i understand where this questions and struggles comes from though because i heard The Sims 3 worlds was a huge mess
maybe we can have open neighbourhood for the community venues only?
residental, residental rental (from For Rent) haunted house (from Paranormal stuff pack) tiny house (from Tiny Living stuff pack) vacation house (from various packs) apartments (from City Living and Eco Lifestyle) penthouses (from City Living and Lovestruck) and residental business (from Businesses and Hobbies) lots can have a loading screen👍

If they add open neighbourhoods I hope they make it optional, with a toggle, even if it means community lots only. Those who want it can use it, those who don't can avoid it. In TS3 you could visit the neighbour's lot but they were at work so what good was that? Or you visited the park and again everyone was at work or hurrying to get home after work and the park was empty. The few sims who were not at work were spread so far out in the world, either in their own homes or on community lots that the worlds appeared like ghost towns. It will be the same in TS4, now the game summons about 20 sims to a lot when you visit, if they add open neighbourhood those 20 sims will be spread out to all the lots there. I would rather have the loading screens and lively lots. If you have one community lot per sub-hood you can totally play almost like an open neighbourhood game, load that lot when you switch neighbourhoods and then you can roam freely.
