Neighborhood Lots

I kinda wish that when a Sim is in any neighborhood that they can go to other lots in the same neighborhood without it having to go through the load screen.

Like, when my Sim visits a friend and there's a café next door to them they can just walk over there to have a chat over a nice cuppa.

Or my Sim currently living in Sulani and she decides to spend her day off at the beach, she can just leash her doggy and they both stroll over for a tan and a game of fetch.

  • That allows all properties that are in the current around your Sims home or where your Sim should be loaded in all at once so no loading screens between the bar next-door and the gym next door loading screens only for areas outside of your Sims current walking distance a bit like what the Sims 3 on consoles had

  • I would like open neighborhood I mean it's just right there it's was always weird to me too that I can walk past, around and go and knock but go into loading screen same thing with apartments I'm right there.

I don't usually create parks in my neighbourhoods because there are plenty of neighburhood spaces designed like parks where my sims can walk to and do so without a loading screen. There are also food stands or picnic spaces and public toilets nearby, there are skating rinks,  water balloon buckets, fishing spots, swimming spots, plants to harvest, etc.so you can have a day out of your lot with absolutely no loading screen to interrupt your gameplay. You can even bring extra fun stuff with you if you want, like a picnic blanket or a fireplace and even more interactions are available with the natural living skill. It's quite fun to explore the neighbourhoods this way and only load into other lots if I want the gameplay they offer. If you plan your neighbourhoods and are mindful of what the neighburhood space has to offer for the families living there, then you can really minimize the use of loading screens. Also, you can invite sims over to your lot, so you don't need to visit their lot.

    100%

We don't need fully open world. But open neighbourhood would really help. I've just added a post about how empty and boring the neighbourhoods are, and how I basically have zero reason to step off my home lot.  If I was able to directly pop next door and visit the park/bar/neighbour/etc it would be so much better.

As it stands, I find lots like parks to be almost completely useless. Why would I really need to go there when I can have benches, grills, swings and plants at home...?

I always find it frustrating that if I'm visiting a neighbouring lot, and I click "go home" my sim will run all the way up to my home lot boundary and then give me a loading screen. It always feels silly and like it shouldn't be this way.
