New Clothing Category: Rainy Weather

@gardtindre I don't even live in a place where it can get very cold often and I still never liked that our Sims had rainclothes but not category for them! 😅  I think they wanted raincoats and galoshes for the looks only, which is unfortunate.  Sometimes I will make 4 cold weather outfits that look like they would be good for cold weather, and one cold weather outfit that looks like it would be good for rain, but this is only a workaround!  😔

@PugLove888 Great to see that at least one other player relates 😅 And I think you're right about the looks of the rain clothes being the sole reason for their existence. The workaround you mentioned is probably our best option, but I would settle for it more easily if only those coats would do their job and actually keep my Sims dry. Oh, well 🤷‍♂️

@gardtindre I'm sure there are more than just us who feel this way, but it isn't a huge issue for the rest of the community. 😅 
But even my workaround isn't that satisfactory because not only will they not choose the raincoat when it rains, they sometimes choose the raincoat when it snows! 🤦🏻‍♀️😅

However. even in the game the way it is now, Sims won't always automatically change into the right clothing, though they often do. 😉

@PugLove888 yeah, my wild guess is that the majority of the player base does not live somewhere that's both cold and rainy, and then it easily becomes a non-issue 😂 And like you point out, Sims will be Sims either way, but I'll try implement your workaround a bit better in my game from now on, see if that helps with the feel of it at least 🌧️☔

@willowwolf7 Thank you so much! And wow, I completely forgot that there's a reward trait for this 😅 I'll keep that in mind, see if I can't implement it somewhat realistically along with the rain clothes. Thank you for the reminder ☔🌧️

@gardtindre , you will probably end up having to manually change between their cold weather outfits depending on how rainy or cold it is.  But at least you are able to assign a raincoat to the Cold Weather clothing category!  Thankfully we can have up to 5 different outfits in each category if we want to! 😅

In fact, you can assign any clothing item to any category.  So, if you want to wear a bikini as your cold weather outfit and a big puffy coat with gloves and a hat for your hot weather outfit, you can! 🙃🤪🤣

Why wearing a winter coat if it's rainy yet not too cold? That doesn't make any sense

The Sims 2 had both winter and rain coat outfits so why can't The Sims 4 have both of these things? Well except rain coat deserves to have their own category

I use LittleMsSam's raincoat mod specifically for this :)

Sims can pull out umbrellas when it rains - why not spin into a coat?

I also refuse to use the raincoats because they're not cold weather clothing items. The mod makes them functional and it's very immersive :)

I've been saying this for years and have posted about this constantly. In my opinion they should go back in and evaluate all the clothing and put things that look like rain gear into the hypothetical rain gear tab and then fill it out with traditional and some fun rain clothing. Same with pets Rain Gear should be a clothing tab. Then, as has been already stated Sims will switch and put their rain gear on.
