Please Restore Duplicated Worlds/NOT THE BUG
Please Restore Duplicated Worlds – They Were the Only Alternative to Create-a-World
Before I start,
INFORMATION:
The Duplicated World glitch/bug ≠ Duplicating/Copying Worlds Manually
I actually did try to fix this issue myself, but it’s not possible without the origin code/script they put. At least I wouldn’t know how.
ASSUMPTION BECAUSE OF TESTING:
BUT this script it is MOST LIKELY the cause for the people that now have issues and lost the wrong Duplicated World, have loading issues and more.
BECAUSE the Duplicated World still exist. You just can’t see it.
I thought it’s a script that deletes any Duplicated World when you start your game.
I couldn’t find my cloned/copied/manually duplicated worlds either.
YET I was able to make them switch to the other World.
If you MANUALLY Duplicate Worlds you likely also know what you can or can not do and what you can cause and bugs it can create -> which is the reason I am fairly confident the “fix” script cause this issues.
This is also NOT how you fix a bug.
To Fix a bug you need to figure out the cause.

I understand that duplicated worlds may have originated from a bug and that some players experienced problems because of it. If the feature caused technical issues, I understand why those issues needed to be addressed.
However, simply removing duplicated worlds without providing any alternative has caused enormous damage for players who relied on them for legitimate creative projects.
The Sims 4 does not have a Create-a-World tool, and EA has stated there are no plans to add one. At the same time, the number of official worlds is finite. Because of this, duplicated worlds became one of the only ways to expand the game's creative possibilities.
For years, I used duplicated worlds to build a historical simulation spanning multiple civilizations. Every duplicated world represented a unique culture or historical period. They were intentionally separated because they were not the same civilization.
For example:
- Uruk
- Babylon
- Assyria
- Persia
- Rome
- Pompeii
- Alexandria
These were not duplicate copies of the same place. They were entirely different historical worlds that happened to use the same map because no other suitable worlds existed.
Now this project has been permanently damaged.
Some civilizations are forced to merge into a single world, destroying their separate identities. Others cannot exist at all because several projects depended on the same map. Rome, Pompeii, and Alexandria all required Oasis Springs. Assyria and Persia now have to share Willow Creek. This is not a creative decision—it is a technical limitation imposed by the removal of duplicated worlds.
The problem is made worse because there is no replacement. There is no Create-a-World tool, no ability to create custom maps, no new worlds planned, and no alternative system that replaces what duplicated worlds allowed players to do.
I also understand that duplicated worlds caused problems for some players. However, many players had functioning saves built around them. Existing mods already allowed players to remove unwanted duplicated worlds manually. After this update, some players who had never needed those mods before are now relying on them to fix problems caused by the removal of duplicated worlds.
Completely removing the functionality has affected everyone, including players whose saves depended on it.
Even worse, some players reportedly lost the wrong duplicated worlds during the update, leaving them with empty or incorrect worlds instead of the versions they had built. This resulted in players losing years of work when functioning creative projects were removed instead of the unwanted duplicates.
For players like me, this is not the loss of a convenience feature. It is the destruction of years of creative work. My historical project was designed around the ability to represent separate civilizations in separate worlds. That is no longer possible.
Please consider restoring duplicated worlds as an official feature, or provide another system that allows players to create multiple instances of existing worlds. Without Create-a-World, duplicated worlds were one of the few tools available for large-scale creative world-building.
This update has left me with decisions that no creator should have to make. I am being forced to merge civilizations that I intentionally kept separate because they represent different cultures, different histories, and different identities. Other projects cannot exist at all because there are simply no worlds left to place them in.
What hurts the most is that this project was never about placing random buildings into empty worlds. It was a carefully planned historical simulation built over many years. Every civilization had its own purpose, its own architecture, its own people, and its own place in a timeline that evolved through history.
I invested a significant amount of time researching historical cultures, architecture, mythology, geography, and social structures to create these worlds as accurately as possible. These were not simply themed builds; they were carefully developed civilizations with their own identities, stories, and connections.
I cannot recreate that work under the current limitations. The worlds themselves have become the limiting factor, not my creativity.
The Sims has always encouraged players to imagine, build, and tell stories. Duplicated worlds made that possible on a larger scale for players creating long-term projects like mine. I sincerely hope this decision is reconsidered or that an official alternative is introduced, because without one, years of creative work have been permanently diminished.
