Teknikah Updating neighbourhoods using vacant lots is one of my favourite things to do. I've added campsites, spas, outdoor cinemas, malls, science/rocket parks and spaces for horses/pet rescues as well as retail lots, etc. It's easier when you have plenty of worlds at your disposal. I don't use Willow Creek too much, or Newcrest for example. So I add a lot of public lots there for various purposes. Newcrest is a really modern, bright world with different spaces like a roller rink and kids play castle and water park all in Ridgeline Drive next to a couple of furniture stores. Bridgeview has some artisanal stores and an open air mall with a little row of stores and food stalls. Strangerville (now it's been saved) has some cool spaces too. So does Windenburg because it's huge. I updated Desert Bloom Park too with a food court, a bar, horse grazing space, kids play area and a roller rink. There's a movie area with picnic blankets too and the screen from Little Campers.
I'd like to be able to do more with Sylvan Glade and Forgotten Grotto too but the build grid is so small. I'd love to have the space to add a cabin in Sylvan Glade like I have with the Mt Komerebi summit. It's barely big enough to place a small tent. In the Grotto I've added crystal trees and I make a small campsite for visiting Sims, I mainly go there if I'm doing the angling or collecting aspirations. I'd also like food stalls to be staffed rather than having to hire them each time, but we've requested that for a few years. I'd also like all the water to be swimmable and an ice cream van would be so cool. I currently use the stall from Snowy Escape that sells the ice cream crepe cones on my public lots in warmer worlds, but again I have to hire the vendor.
That sounds so amazing! And now I'm even more sad that all my neighbourhoods are empty and boring 😭
I would be so incredibly happy if all of a sudden the 5 or so lots in the immediate neighbourhood were all accessible and we could just go straight over to the bar and movie hangout area, and vendor market (I use a mod for vendors to automatically spawn on lots so I don't need to hire them, because I hate that too).

Teknikah I've uploaded some of these to the Gallery. I'm on Xbox Series X so can't upload a save file. Most of my Newcrest lots are there Whalebert's Water Park, Rainbow Castle Park, Ridgeline Roller Rink and Newcrest Galleria. Firefly Park is there too along with my Windenburg Gym and Spa. If you have Paranormal there's a community haunted ruin called Haunted Monument which is an open haunted house lot. If you have Island Living there's a marina with a houseboat and canoes called Sandstone Marina and there's a vacation lot with a houseboat called The Loveboat. My dog rescue is called Brindleton Bay Kennels and the cat rescue is called Calico Cottage.
