Private mode for Gallery

I'm having a discussion with my partner who also plays the game with me. I've been thinking of completely uninstalling/re-installing the game on our Xbox, starting fresh with a completely new Save game, but we still want our households and lots. It's my understanding that we can't do this by just saving them to the Library, we MUST save to the Gallery in order for that to work.

The thing is, my partner is very private and doesn't want to upload their households to a public gallery. They don't want to share their work with others, but still want to keep those characters and builds that they worked so hard on.

So, I think there should be a "private" button for the Gallery, so that one can safely put their work on the Gallery but not have it be seen or downloaded by the public, only by the account holder.

  • You can immediately remove them from the public gallery afterwards. So it would only be a few short hours to a couple of days. I clean out what I allow to stay on the gallery about once per year.

  • In my opinion nobody really visits other  people's gallery. People with hundreds and thousands of downloads are working hard on social media channels to advertise their downloads on the gallery. Or are people posting highly sought after stuff like collections and sims with unlocked clothing. And then there are the people that post and repost the same thing over and over again. Think if you don't add any hashtags, nobody will be able to find your stuff unless they know your account and if they stumble upon it they'll probably not even look at it, especially if you have lots of packs installed and there is no description added. Save lots at night, so they can't see anything and save sims with paper hats on and it's guaranteed that no one will look at them. 😂
Anyway, you can save your tray files if you don't want to upload to the gallery. The tray files is where your library stuff is saved. Not sure how that works on Xbox, but that's how you can back-up your library files on PC.

  • I like this idea because I, too, like to save my favorite families to the gallery as a way to keep them safe in case my save file gets corrupted or something. But I don't necessarily want to share them with everyone because they probably won't make sense to anyone but me. 😀
