Thanks a lot for the clarification! I was playing a storyline with a sim as a secret child and just yesterday realized my sim wasn't a secret anymore so I came looking for answers and you provided them. It's a true shame the thing about the secret timer but I'm sure some kind soul will fix this in a mod in the future.

I believe adding a paternity test feature could work around this issue. But that’s something I’d expect to see from an existing or future mod.
