SIMS 3 is better than SIMS 4

I just bought & downloaded SIMS 4 yesterday and I just started playing it but realized SIMS 3 is much better so I also downloaded SIMS 3 and planning to uninstall SIMS 4. SIMS 4 has limited view and divided per map with lots of loading whenever transferring to different map and not so much things to do as compared to the open world SIMS 3. I hope SIMS 3 still continue in the future.

Evergreen Harbor has 13 lots including 2 apartments and 7 residential lots and 4 community lots. !!

Facts need to be 💯 percent.

Anybody can bulldoz all the lots and create a new World.

These Sims 4 neighborhoods or...worlds have never given the builder enough room to create and expand for 10+ yrs.

San Myshuno does not have 30 lots. That number requires you to both ignore that apartments are limited in size and shape, and that they exist in the same space as each other, and are a special feature of the pack. This is so far out of reality that I had to do a triple take at the number- I've NEVER seen someone consider San Myshuno a "30 lot world" before. By that same logic every single world in the game has 30 lots because you can buy For Rent and put rentals in them. I'm sure if I claimed that's the numbers you would disagree.

Windenburg was the very first expansion world and the devs have made it very clear it was wildly out of scope as a result. That is what is called an "Outlier". It is not indicative of the norm, by definition. "10 years ago the very first expansion to add a new world added a big one" isn't really a fair argument in this context.

16 and 17 are not crazy higher numbers than the average of 13. You also got them wrong... Mt Komorebi has 14 lots. Once again, these are objective numbers. We can just go count them.

Bridleton Bay has 16 Evergreen Harbor 14 Mt Komorebi 17 San Myshuno 30 Widenburg 27 Sulani 14  previous expansion pack had a lot more lots then the expansion packs now even the base game worlds had more lots the worlds are indeed getting limited.

I agree. Their excitement in discovering an older game in The Sims series is always welcoming and fun! 🙂

    Nordhaven- 12
    Ravenwood- 13
    Ciudad- 13
Tomarang- 9 (13 livable spaces with existing residential rentals)
    Chestnut Ridge- 13
    San Sequoia- 12
    Copperdale- 11

I mean when it comes to quantifiable, objective things, it's a bit weird to make statements like "there's less and less as time goes on". We can simply count them.

IMHO I like how the newcomers are coming in here Sims 4 wants to attract and appease the younger generation or newer players and wants them to play the Sims 4 but once some players not all figure out the previous versions of this game they'll know the difference that we long time players have been complaining about. I do like Sims 4 however it is very limited especially the worlds it seems like it gets smaller and smaller with EPs coming out.

  • Welcome to the Forums and congrats on getting TS3!  🙂 Sims 4 diehard here but thank goodness there's something for everyone in the Sims Franchise.

We have an active Sims 3 forum here if you have any questions or want to share your gameplay.

    Have fun!

  • It is so weird seeing people probably born after Sims 3 even released showing up to complain they like Sims 3 better and want it to keep getting updates. This isn't how it works. This isn't how anything works.

  • True! They are very different from each other in so many ways starting with art style and the open worlds in Sims 3.

I like the creative freedom that Sims 3 gives the player from taking pictures in game(tilting the screen) to designing almost everything in game with the color wheel.

I also like that you can play as a dog, cat or horse and Sims 3 has real unicorns.

And you can live on a houseboat and fish or walk almost anywhere in the game. I tried to turn the game inside out once....I can't explain...I got under the game and over the game taking screenshot zooming in and out.

I like the snorkeling in Sims 4 but I like how you can dive underwater in Sims 3 more.

I like the food and cooking in Sims 4 more though.

  • There are also a wide range of specific character creations, clothes, furniture, color patterns, map locations, and collectibles in SIMS 3 that I don't see in SIMS 4.
