Adopted child needs to grieve

Hi!

I have adopted a child that is sad sometimes. He gets a bubble over his head to go to a tomb stone or an urn and click "Mourn". I have no tomb stone or urn for him.
How do I solve this?

There is one main way to make gravestones: have sims die.

It doesn't have to be your sims. It can be random sims you find in the world for example. You can check the Manage Households section to find a method.

And to cause it, well, there are many ways. Fire, starvation, drowning, old age etc. Putting them in a room or pool and walling it off so they can't escape it. Or getting a playful moodlet and drinking the Potion of Happiness from the Rewards Store. There are ways (jeez, that felt wrong to write...).

With bb.showhiddenobjects cheat though, you can find gravestones in build mode, but I don't know if that works as intended or not. Having a sim die is a safer way.

It is not possible as the urn/grave of his deseeded parents doesn't exist in the game. Have the child do something fun.

  • Can't it be whatever urn or tomb stone? I just need to find one and test if it works.

@towanda411  You could drown a random townie in a pool. Invite them to go swimming, then get sims you care about out and wall the pool in.

This is all from the Gloomy trait, nothing else. They sometimes want to mourn.

You can either replace the trait with cheats, try to find a random gravestone to mourn (if you don't have any, make some), or live with it.

What makes it easier is that as your sim is a child, they are immune to the Fear of Unfulfilled Dreams. So, my main advice here is just ignore it. Nothing bad happens if they don't mourn.
