ARGH ALIENS!!!!!!! *shakes fist*

Is it me, or are aliens "pollination"-crazy lately?

I've just had my second Sim in this save abducted and "pollinated," and my Sim in another save just had alien twins.

I HAD OTHER PLANS, ALIENS! HE JUST FOUND A GIRL HE'S INTO! BUT NOW HE CAN'T MARRY HER BECAUSE THERE ARE NO HOUSEHOLD SLOTS! (I don't want to separate him and his twin.)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! ALIENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *falls to knees and shakes fist*

    Game, NO.

I'm not even with you right now.

I am NOT populating this save exclusively with aliens!  I know I have an alien in the household (his son-in-law's child-aged daughter that everyone is helping raise). I know that we have alien plants and mother and daughter explored space today (we're doing collections). I know that out of 6 played households (excluding my "spouse farms" that I don't really play), 4 have at least one alien* (two adult aliens from abductions who've moved out on their own into two households, two recent abductions in two households--yeah, I aged up Octavia and moved her out, into a San Myshuno apartment with her bestie, so her dad could get married).  That does NOT mean that the next generation will consist entirely of aliens!

    Are you listening to me?

Apparently the answer to that is NO, you are NOT listening to me.

(I've often felt that the game does more of what you seem to allow, such as if you have parents do flashcards with toddlers and help children and teens with homework, parents will autonomously do flashcards with toddlers and help children and teens with homework. Ditto for if you have a lot of babies they get a lot of whims for babies. If your Sim has a near-death brush with cold or fire the game will throw more cold or fire at you. But... NO.)

Yeah, I used MCCC to clear that. NO.

    * If you're curious, the other two households are 100% vampire and 100% mermaid.

  • You know what? I totally agree with you. I can't wrap my head around the reason why this issue has not yet been addressed like many others have. I know this thread might be a little old, but I just had to put my support for your idea out there. The developers are obviously quite capable of fixing this. A solution is totally in their hands... hope they fix it one day.

@RandomBuzziness I agree with you. This is a triggering topic for some people. I just hope they put themselves on those players' shoes one day. Yes, mods can fix this, but not everyone likes playing with mods. Some people can't even. Thank you for sharing your opinion.
  • @stormsai The toggle idea you are talking about would be the most effective honestly, so I agree with you. I like vampires, but not the "forced pregnancy" from GTW... it's..."insulting" to say the least. Thank you for bringing it up.
  • @daikoyu Ooops, I tried to reply to you post, but I guess I am a newbie. I just totally agree with you. I was starting to feel like I was the only one bothered by this feature. I am glad to see I'm not. Thank you for bringing this up. I don't have any issue with the abduction per se, I just don't like the potential "forced aftermath" of it. It's rather distasteful in my opinion.
  • Daikoyu this is a game where we decide if they have children/ sex so because you didn't decide they were having a child it's r×¥€¢?  God complex much? I've actually been through it so I can tell you it's not triggering you're being goofy.

Sure, I am goofy so are the people which wanted to remove the bow at shrine and that the hate Childers need to be dazed that they agree for a child. (Just with the little difference both was success that this thing got removed!)

Just because you think its okey because you encounter this and is not a trigger for you it is okey? I am sorry I don’t want to break your world, but humans are not all the same. For you it is okey for other people which encounter the same could be traumatic! We humans deal with things differently because of this not all therapy works for ever human.

As I say, a vanilla player don’t have a method to stop this. You need a science(item) or a cheat (Reset Sim) that the game 100% not abducted your sims and you can’t choice that your male sims don’t get pregnant from this and as I know we don’t have abortion in this game to remove this process. So no, they player don’t have to say a matter in this thing. He can only decision to give away the BORN baby but not remove the process of the pregnancy.

As players, we're all different when it comes to things like what might or might not be a trauma trigger. Some players see alien impregnations in Sims 4 as being goofy, light-hearted humor, and that's totally fine. I'm certain that is how the devs intended it to be. Other players see it as an invasive, unwelcome, and forced event. That's also fine, and very understandable. I have to believe that even the devs saw this issue as somewhat problematic, or why would they have excluded female Sims from the involuntary impregnations? I've always felt there should be a simple opt-out, like the Aliens asking for consent from the abductee, so players could voluntarily choose whether or not to participate in the experiments.
