Hi, I am having the same issue with one of my worlds as well. How were you able to save your old world? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I had this issue this morning. I had sent my sim to a lot in University Stories and the game crashed. I reloaded and got the error code to restart the game but that didn't work. I was able to load the neighbour's household then invited my sim to their house. I have now loaded back into my sim and we are at the neighbour's house.

@crinrict The error message said "The game failed to load. Error code: 123:[and then an alphanumeric code]. It is recommended you relaunch the game."
It happened to me when my sim travelled to another world. I could load my neighbours lot but not my played sim.
