Bust the Dust
Has anyone else found issue with how quickly the dust builds up in your home with this pack? It seems all I'm doing on the sims is vacuuming. Not to mention, the maids and butlers don't vacuum when they work.

I'm getting wild variations in dust buildup in my houses.
I've got a single sim with two dogs in a tiny house, practically no dust ever.
I have a single sim with no pets in a two storey house with the filthy trait, dust central. It goes so fast and so hard it's unbelievable. I'm loving it! Of course, I messed up by leaving the lot and reset all my progress, but it shouldn't be too hard to get things going again.
I also have a six sim family with a three storey house, and I had to set them up with roombas because they were going nuts with the autonomous dusting. They'd stop anything and everything to break out the vacuum cleaners. Still, can report that roombas are very effective.
Where I have gotten stuck though is on the aspiration.
I'm working on Perfectly Pristine at the moment, and I cannot find the option to show off my clean house to guests anywhere.
Not in the social menu, not by clicking on the floor, not by clicking the vacuum cleaner. I definitely had the clean house moodlet, so I'm not sure where I'm going wrong. Does anyone know?
- @missdeefying It seems to me that the only reward you get is a moodlet that shows your sim is loving how clean the place is. There seems to be no option to show off your sparkling clean home (not that I can find it). maybe there's someone here who knows. Fingers crossed. 🙂 Just to add, my sims were vacuuming the garden??? *chuckles to self*
@Gednaa I actually had the achievement autocomplete when I invited somebody over while the clean floor moodlet was active. Didn't have to do anything, as soon as they showed up it went ping! Not sure why it didn't happen the first couple of times, but I got it in the end.
There is a bug report on the dust building up in the homes: [OPEN] [BDK] Bunnies and filth friends are too frequent
- @canelacaliente Weird, I can't open your link. Annoying. Safari doesn't seem to want to open it anyway and it's the only browser I use with a Mac. :/
This pack is a little too fast with dust/bunnies... and oh my gosh.. why this smell idle animation in ever room my sims enters? This remembers me a South Park episode “smug Alert!” (sniffing farts) Why is this all so bad balanced? And worst, the toggle for disabled this system doesn’t really work!
Is it the end goal from EA that the customer not buying packs by release date and only by sale? Eco NAPS was a mess, Snowy lifestyles are mess and now Bust the dust are a mess. Hell, self Batuu is a mess since the update! I miss my Aliens in Batuu!

If you look at the link itself, it has an extra http:// and space in front, which is easy to delete manually.
Also, it's always a good idea to have multiple browsers because you never know when one might refuse to open a page. I have three installed in macOS and three in Windows.
- @puzzlezaddict Thank so much! I alway imagined that you had to use safari on a Mac. Now I'll think differently thanks to your great advice. And maybe I can follow that link! I'll let you know. 🙂
Investigating again and it seems that celebs can get free maid services, so I booked one and she said @looks like there's nothing to do here today, so I'll move onto my next client." Maybe as I booked her as a scheduled service, she'll do some work. Bothered?? Me??? if she doesn't do the work,my sims will until I switch their autonomy off! Always a workaround in my game. :D
- @Simmergirl18 I've had to turn it off, 2 sims in a 2-floor house with a basement and I've had dust piles and filth fiends pop up while they're vacuuming an almost clean floor. I thought it would be nice to give my maid/butler something to actually do but that's the only thing they DON'T do so what's the point? It accumulates in an entirely unrealistic way, remember, I have only 2 sims in the house but every floor just sprouts massive dust piles every few hours. How is this supposed to be fun? I adore the dust bunnies and was hoping to befriend a filth fiend but all they do is vacuum and I can't find a single trash can they can kick over to finish the stupid aspiration! Every one says there's no fresh trash. What is going on???
