By Design - No Grace period

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? Unknown, just updated the game 12/8/23
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All expansions, all game packs, most stuff packs
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Start a game renting at either Rental Property that comes with For Rent with a 7 Day Lease period. No Grace period notification. Instead of showing the Grace Period after the lease period, it automatically renews the lease for another 7 days.
What happens when the bug occurs? There is no Grace period option, and the tenant will incur a $500 fine to break the lease if they try to move the day before the lease ends or the day the lease automatically renews (showing 7 days left).
What do you expect to see? I expect after the 7 day lease period to see a Grace period option like what is displayed in the Help Center images where my Sim can choose to move without violating the tenant agreement.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

    Hey all,

We've completed our investigation into this issue and found that Grace Period is working how it was designed to.

By default you'll have 7 days as the Lease Length, after 7 Sim days complete Lease Length will renew automatically and the remaining lease will show 7 days.

After 1 Sim day passes in the Renewed Lease Length after 9 AM you will get the grace period. The notification might be delayed but you can see this via Show Tenant Agreement as well.

  • @kristyann0325 I felt it was a bit off and didn't always get a notification but the grace period was still active. Did you check despite no notification ?
  • @kristyann0325 I havent try it myself, but I read about it in the lessons of the game. I am not sure to understand fully what you wrote, but did you try to change rent or move out the day following the end of the 7 days lease? It says that the Grace Period is one day after the lease end, but the other lease is renewed automatically, so that means the first day of the renewed lease... its how I understand. Simply curious here.
  • I have the same issue in my game, no grace period, it goes straight from "1 day remaining" to "7 days remaining" the following morning.

  • Same issue as a landlord. No grace period. I thought I might have just not gotten the notification, so I manually checked the agreement every day. It simply went from 1 day to 7 days and remained an "unjust" eviction button. No mods, clean save.

  • I’m having a similar issue but the lease days stay the same. It’s said ‘4 days left’ for the last week. So I can never get to the grace period!

  • Does this mean that the player has to "Justly evict" the tenants during the grace period or the lease will be renewed?
