[BY DESIGN] Action doesn't cancel

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.51.75.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play the game
What happens when the bug occurs? I am not able to cancel sims actions, or it will take incredible long to cancel action. Then I have to reset sim using testing cheats.
What do you expect to see? Que up several actions, then try to cancel one. The sim will not cancel action and proceeds to do whatever the action was.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Updated with patch from April 16, 2019.

@Bearpal64 Yes, it's incredibly annoying! When you cancel an action often they continue walking over to you. Ugh
  • I have a similar problem too. But my sim is just standing there and the only interaction he can do is hold an umbrella while it's raining.  I can't cancel it so he can go home.

I’ve had a canceled task icon get stuck multiple times. Just today I canceled a knitting task and it stayed in the queue for multiple sim days until I exited out and restarted my game.

@metzger425 This is a problem with the base game. I don't think it has been fixed.

What happens when the bug occurs? Sim ignores the cancellation markage and still does the actiion.interaction
What do you expect to see? Sim to NOT do the cancelled queued action/interaction.

The above. Active Sims do it.

  • Same. Trying to cancel actions is pointless. It doesn't work at all.

The action will still show in the queue with an X marked through it, but the sim will still go and complete the action anyway.

OR, if you cancel a sim's action, then switch to another sim as the active sim, and then back to the original sim again, the cancelation has been completely overridden, the X is gone as if you never tried to cancel the action at all, and again, the sim completes the action anyway.

Between this and any action players assign to sims getting dropped from the sim's queue in favor of something an NPC autonomously decides to do, what we've really got here isn't a game at all, but a very, very expensive cartoon.

Does anyone know of a mod that makes the game recognize player input? I would LOVE some way to be able to influence what my sims do.
