[BY DESIGN] [PPSP] Sims will not stay in the hot

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.46.18.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Perfect patio stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? When you instruct a sim to get into a hot tub. Also when a group of sims is instructed to get into a hot tub together.
What happens when the bug occurs? He will sit in the hot tub. The 'get in' interaction will disappear and there will be no interactions visible. The 'relax' interaction never shows up. Within a few real life seconds, the sim will find something else to do on the lot, get out of the hot tub, and do it.
What do you expect to see? I expect the 'relax' interaction to show up in the queue and stay there. Sims should not attempt to do nonsense interactions outside of the hot tub while relaxing.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Ironically, I was having a hard time recreating the issue. The glitch occurred, and then when I was ready to get screenshots of the issue in action, it behaved every time.

This glitch occurs all the time when I am not ready to take screenshots.

One screenshot shows the relax interaction visible. The other screenshot shows how the relax interaction never shows up. The sim will soon find something else to do, such as clean a dish, so he will get out of the hot tub and clean the dish.

I believe this issue as being described is by design. It's true that in Sims 3 Sims could sit in the hot tub for hours, but that's not how it's ever worked for TS4.

The Get In interaction will leave the Sim in the chosen interaction until their Fun motive is full. Once their Fun motive is fulfilled via the user directed Get In, they are open to selecting a new interaction. Given that the Hot Tub is only a Fun value of 1, it is usually outscored by other objects. And if all motives are satisfied, the Sim will seek out something new for Fun.

In my own game, my Sim had maxed Fun and stayed in the hot tub for less than 1 Sim hour before getting out to play on the computer. If I tanked Fun, my Sim stayed in the hot tub for about 8 Sim hours before choosing a new action.

How could it be possibly be by design? Whats the point then to have hot tub, if you the player need to make sure they are multitasking (talking to another sims or watching tv) to have them stay in the tub, why not have the hot tub actually working like the onsen and having the relax moodlet from it, and also have the relax interaction instead of just Get In... thats very annoying, I was playing trying to get the family together in it and I was quick enough to get the dad and mom talk to each other before they autonomously quit the tub. It took me several attemp, making it tedious and not enjoyable at all.
Sorry sir, I don't want to come out as negative but this is poor design imo and need an improvement. Why not having a relax interaction, that make your sims relax indefinitely or until they get a very pressing need, like red red.

No matter what I do, my sim will not stay in the hot tub for more that 5-10 seconds. I have even gone as far as turning off freewill for the selected sim and they STILL will get out. My sims gain no positive moodlets and no negative moodlets are diminished either. I do not know if this feature broke in a certain patch or if bc sims do not stay in them and relax their not able to get anything benefit from them. I'm very frustrated as the hot tub is now useless. Any suggestions is appreciated.

Oh here we are 2024 and this is still an issue. What's the point of hot tubs if the sims will not use them. I have disabled full autonomy and they still get out.

@slytheringoddes I found a thread on Reddit with a mod for a fix but that’s since been deleted. I saw some suggest putting TVs and I also saw an old thread here from 2022 that by design sims are supposed to only stay until their fun is up then get out. I’ve seen some say they had the option to relax but that has since been missing as well. Just frustrating. I feel like I remember my sims always gravitating to the hot tub or just relaxing and now it’s like they hate it.

@candiecoatediv It was how I made ALL my Sims' friends in The Sims 3 lol.
I'd pop 'em in the fryer for a few hours, and strangers would become besties.

Unfortunately, I’ve had the same issue. I’d get a group together and almost before the last one sits, someone’s trying to get out. So then I try some interactions. ((Splash)) ((Splaah)). Oops, they’re done and trying to get out again.
