Camera Controls not Working the Same

I'm not sure if this was part of the most recent update or not, since i didn't see anything about it in the update notes. 

For reference: I use a trackpad, and use the sims 4 camera (any other way is just very difficult for me to grasp, i've tried). 

Before, when i wanted to rotate my camera angle on an x-axis (so up/down) i would click the right-click button, and scroll to rotate on my trackpad. Now, when i right-click it rotates the camera angle on a y-axis (so left-right). In fact, at this point i don't even know how to rotate the camera on an x-axis because nothing is working. But more than that, I would like to figure out how to get the controls to work the way they used to.  

If anyone knows HOW to fix this or has even heard of this problem before (i've tried looking online but haven't had much luck so i'm making my own post here) i'd be so grateful for ANY help!! If I should be posting this in a different forum also pls let me know!! 

Also, if this actually IS part of the update and is intentional i'd love to know that too. I'll be so gutted if that's the case as i don't see a reason for it, but it would be nice to know if this is a problem that even has a solution lol. I'd die for the sims 4 camera/trackpad combo, i wanna keep hope alive :(
