Can no longer ignore Pronouns?

I'm confused. When the pronoun update was added I didn't understand the hate it got as you could simply ignore and not use the options if you didn't wish to engage with them as a traditional player.

However I've noticed that it's no longer an option after playing Growing Together. I was playing the Mikaelson family and the she/her and he/him is constantly after there names. I tried going into CAS to remove it so its just blank like it normally is when you create a new sim. This isn't possible. Even when I do play with non-gender conforming Sims I just want to see their name and not their pronouns.

It's great that people can create and express themselves in anyway they choose but equally the option to remove or hide pronouns should also be an option now as the players who wish to can't just ignore it like so many Sims players parroted at the time.

I mean no hate to anyone, I  just want to know how I can revert to a traditional play style?

  • @CommodoreLezmo I'm not seeing this and I have Growing Together and I set pronouns for all of my Sims. Could you possibly post an image of what you are seeing?

I only see it in CAS.

For anyone who doesn't like the pronouns it still doesn't impact the game. New Sims created don't need to even have pronouns set. Besides, we all have pronouns IRL and always have had. We've just been given the ability to customise them if we so chose.

  • @CommodoreLezmo You often cannot change things for played sims without cheats or mods. My suggestion, if you want to play this family, is to start a new game and to immediately go into CAS to make any changes before playing them. OR if you can, download mods that allow you to do full edit in CAS.

I've looked at this in my game and literally all I see is a pre made family in CAS that happen to have their pronouns already set.

I believe it's not a Growing Together issue but instead it's a recently created Sim issue, Sims created for our times in other words. They don't actually have custom pronouns. They just have their pronouns displayed. They are I suppose what you term "traditional" pronouns. The mother is she/her and the father is he/him which are not custom pronouns. Some pre made Sims in the game have them but many don't, I know that because I've painstakingly gone through NPCs and Other Households and set many custom pronouns myself for inclusivity. It would be the same if downloading a new Sim from the gallery. If the creator had added pronouns in CAS you would see them in CAS. In fact it's no different to receiving correspondence IRL as many companies and bodies add pronouns under staff signatures to go with the times.

As with all townies they can be altered or deleted and players certainly can still choose to ignore pronouns if they wish.

I'm not seeing anything in game. In the absence of an image I assume this is the issue described.

@simsplayer818 You guys are missing the point, the OP doesn't want to have any pronouns shown, but if a sim has already had pronouns applied, then there is no way to get rid of the pronouns so none are shown.
  • @CommodoreLezmo I personally don't use the pronoun feature either. But to remove pronouns off of a sim, you'll have to: press ctrl + shift + C > type in: testingcheatstrue > Use the ctrl + shift + C command again > type in: cas.fulleditmode > shift click a family member > press CAS > backspace everyone's pronouns and click enter to make sure you did it > press the check mark when finished so it saves and adds it.

I'm pretty sure that there's a custom Pronoun option that you can just click
